Growth type crustose. Confirmed by Neil Sanderson
Tullig More and Dromore, Co. Cork, SW Ireland.

First recorded new to Britain and Ireland by Neil Sanderson from New Forest pasture woodlands in southern England and confirmed by DNA sequencing. More information www.fungi.org.uk/lichen

Similar to Lecanora chlarotera s. str. with large crystals in the margins and chlarotera-type epihymenium (granules not descending into the hymenium). The dark chestnut-brown disks are +/- pruinose. Epithecium dark chestnut-brown, the spores shorter than 12.5 µm. POL Micrograph below.
Weak UV+ orange-brown fluorescence from thallus (strongest on apothecia margins) and the discs UV+ dark grey-blue, most noticeable from discs with well-developed pruina (photo below)
