Species: Glaucomaria carpinea (Lecanora carpinea) Photos: On broadleaf twig. The Gearagh, Co. Cork, SW Ireland. Thin white to greyish thallus with white prothallus. Apothecia with brownish-grey discs covered by thick white pruina. Found on the twigs, branches and young trunks of smooth-barked deciduous trees, very rarely occurs on stonework. Thallus: K+ yellow, C-, P+/- pale yellow, UV-. Discs C+ yellow or orange, UV+ pale orange. Similar: Lecanora albella. Apothecial discs C- |
