Species: Trapelia glebulosa Photos: On upland rock. Ballingeary area. Co. Cork, SW Ireland. Scattered , glossy, white, grey or pink-tinged squamules that form clumps or a +/- continuous, overlapping crust. Thallus margin subsquamulose. Often infertile, apothecia with reddish-pink to brownish discs with thin white margins. Usually found on nutrient-enriched, upland siliceous rocks. Occasional on worked timber and among rocks on coastal peaty turf. Thallus: C+ red Similar: Trapelia coarctata and T. placodioides |
