Lirellae are straight, curved or branched with the ends usually rounded and thalline margin absent or only present at the base of lirellae. The dark brown discs are +/- wide open and not pruinose. Asci are 4-8 spored, the spores 7-13 septate, 15-42 x 5-12 µm, lumina irregular, elliptical to lentiform.

One of the two less common species recently separated from Graphis scripta s. lat. Distribution not yet known, but possibly more restricted to oceanic woodlands
