Species: Lichenodiplis lecanorae # Photos: Co. Cork, SW Ireland on Caloplaca ferruginea Dark pycnidia usually occurring in the host apothecia. The pale greenish conidia are 1-septate, 4-7.5 x 2-3 µm. Microscope photograph below. Widespread but under-recorded on the apothecia and less frequently the thalli of Lecanora, Caloplaca and Pertusaria species. Similar: Lichenodiplis lecanoricola, only recorded on Lecanora and has simple conidia. Lichenodiplis opegraphae occurs on thallus and in apothecia of Opegrapha species |
