Species: Cladonia grayi sens lat Photos: In acid soil among rocks. Ballingeary, Cork, SW Ireland. Chemical results: K-, C-, KC-, P +/- red. Medulla UV + blue One of a number of chemotypes within the Cladonia chlorophaea aggregate Basal squamules inconspicuous and soon disappear. Podetia usually unbranched and with brownish tinge, granulose-corticate but usually without large soredia. Found in more acidic habits than C. chlorophaea s.str. Probable identification but not tested for chemical and UV reactions |
