Species: Lecania erysibe Photos: On concrete post. Killeenleigh, Co. Cork, SW Ireland. Very variable with a scurfy grey or greenish-brown thallus that can be thin or cracked and areolate and is often densely blastidiate. Usually fertile with small orange-brown to blackish discs, the thin, paler margins becoming excluded. The spores are 1-septate, 9-16 × 3-5 µm. Microscope photographs below. Can be very common on nutrient-enriched bricks, walls, church memorials and asbestos-cement and also found on decaying wood |
