Lichenicolous fungus. Photos: On Lecanora chlarotera. Macroom, Cork, SW Ireland.

The small, black, +/- globose pycnidia are usually immersed in the host but sometimes erumpent. Conidia are simple, often biguttulate, 6.5-9 x 3-3.5 µm, dark bluish-green becoming pale brown, smooth or minutely verrucose. Microscope photographs of conidia below.

Parasitic on the apothecia (and less often the thallus) of Lecanora argentata, L. chlarotera, L. hybocarpa, L. rugosella, L. saligna and L. umbrina.
