Species: Peltigera collina Photos: Cathair Chomáin, the Burren and Co. Cork, Ireland. Grey-blue to brownish-grey thallus, smooth or slightly pruinose lobes to 1cm wide. Ascending margins and tips. Pale grey or slightly bluish-grey soredia form on the +/- ragged lobe margins. Under-surface whitish with tan-colored veins and simple rhizines. Apothecia rare, dark-brown. On mossy rocks and mature trees in old, undisturbed woodlands in the western half of Ireland. Chemical reactions negative Similar: Nephroma parile. Lower surface without veins or rhizines |
