Hollow grey or greenish thallus with radiating lobes perforated with many small holes. Margins with globose soredia. Apothecia are infrequent, discs chestnut coloured. Cortex K+ yellow. Medulla K+ yellow, P+ yellow-orange An 'Old forest' indicator species occurring on shaded trees and damp mossy woodland rocks in the west of Ireland. Similar: Menegazzia subsimilis. Ascending lip-shaped soralia.
