Species: Chrysothrix flavovirescens Photos: Co. Cork, SW Ireland. The inconspicuous thallus is +/- covered by thin or scattered, dull yellowish-green granular soredia. Apothecia rare, spores 3-septate. Chemical results negative Possibly increasing on dry, well-lit, nutrient-poor wood and on the bark of conifers and deciduous trees. Most frequent on conifers or dead standing pine trees but scattered distribution in Ireland. Similar: Chrysothrix candelaris is brighter in colour, Lecanora expallens is C+ orange and Psilolechia lucida is usually saxicolous |
