Species: Psilolechia lucida Photos: On headstone. Bantry, Co. Cork, SW Ireland. Powdery thallus of bright yellow-green, very fine, leprose granules that can form large patches. The small yellowish apothecia are rare and often +/- hidden in the thallus. Common and widespread on dry, shaded rocks, walls, bricks, stonework and headstones in both rural and urban areas. Rarely found on trees. Chemical reactions negative, UV+ orange. |
