Species: Lichina pygmaea Photos: On coastal rock below HWM. Bantry area, Cork, Ireland. Black to dark-brown thallus forms mats to 1cm high. Branches +/- flattened, some can be yellow-brown. Spherical apothecia on tips. Coastal on siliceous rocks below high water mark. Chemical reations negative Similar: L. confinis. Smaller, to 5mm high. Above HWM. |
