Species: Pannaria rubiginosa Photos: On mature Ash trunk. Gougane Barra, Cork, SW Ireland. Blue-grey to brownish-grey squamules with paler margins and hairy, felted blackish-grey hypothallus, +/- visible. Lobes sometimes slightly pruinose. Usually fertile, apothecia chestnut-brown with crenulate margins. Isidia and soredia are absent. Occurs in W and SW Ireland overgrowing moss on mature Ash, also found on willow and in hazel coppices.
