Species: Platismatia glauca Photos: Gougane Barra, Co.Cork and Killarney, Co.Kerry, Ireland Bluish-grey to greenish-brown thallus, +/- erect, tufted lobes with crisped, incised margins. Lobe margins often isidiate or sorediate. Rhizines usually absent. Apothecia rare, discs red-brown. Upper cortex: K+ yellow, UV- Occurs on acid-barked trees, often on horizontal branches, also on upland rocks. Most frequent in N Ireland. Similar: Cetrelia olivetorum has punctiform pseudocyphallae on upper surface |
