Species: Porpidia soredizodes Photos: On upland rocks, Ballingeary, Co. Cork, SW Ireland. Thin thallus forming small grey or creamy-grey patches surrounded by a black prothallus. Round or irregular soralia with greyish-white or greyish, farinose or granular soredia. Apothecia are rare. It is probably the sorediate counterpart of Porpidia crustulata. Soralia K+ yellow, C-, P+ orange Occurs on siliceous rocks, gravestones and pebbles. Similar: Porpidia tuberculosa. Chemical results negative |
