Species: Snippocia nivea (Schismatomma niveum) Photos: On Holly. Glengarriff woods, Co. Cork, SW Ireland. Creamy-white or pale grey thallus, often tinged pinkish when fresh. Paler or concolorous punctiform soralia, becoming confluent and +/- covering thallus. Apothecia and pycnidia absent. K-, C-, KC-, P+ bright orange-yellow, UV+/- orange-grey. Occurs on bark on the dry side of mature trees in old, established woodlands. Recorded from SW and NW Ireland on Oak and Holly. Sometimes associated with S. decolorans, Cresponea premnea and Lecanactis abietina |
