Growth type crustose, leprose.

Powdery thallus of bright yellow-green, very fine, leprose granules that can form large patches. The small yellowish apothecia are rare and often +/- hidden in the thallus.

Common and widespread on dry, shaded rocks, walls, bricks, stonework and headstones in both rural and urban areas. Rarely found on trees. Chemical reactions negative, UV+ orange.

Similar: Psilolechia leprosa is usually fertile but appears to be rarely recorded in Ireland
