Photos: On hazel. Cathair Chomáin, the Burren, W Ireland. BLS Burren meeting 2009 Large dark-brownish thallus, convoluted lobes with many folioles on the margins. The lower surface is greyish and slightly tomentose. Apothecia are frequent, reddish-brown with foliose margins. Asci are 8-spored, spores muriform (5-7 septate transversely, 1-3 septate longitudinally) 25-40 x 13-17 µm. Occurs in damp, shady woodland and on mossy rocks. Chemical reactions negative. |
