Species: Clauzadea chondrodes Photos: On limestone. Cathair Chomáin, the Burren, Ireland. BLS Burren meeting 2009 White thallus without cracks, prothallus absent. Lecideine apothecia in shallow pits, often in crowded, deformed 'regeneration' stage. Discs are red-brown when moist, dull-brown to black when dry. Simple colourless spores. Thallus: chemical reactions negative. Hymenium I+ pale blue. Infrequently recorded, occurs on natural hard, sunny or shaded limestone. Irish records are from the Burren, Co. Clare. |
