BLS Burren meeting 2009 Previously included in C. holocarpa agg. Abundant crowded, small orange or dark orange apothecia with very narrow margins. K+ crimson / purple. Occurs on calcareous substrates: limestone, mortar and concrete. Sometimes found parasitic on Verrucaria species. C. holocarpa is very similar but occurs on siliceous rocks.
