Species: Cladonia floerkeana Photos: Among upland rocks. Ballingeary, Cork, SW Ireland. Persistent small incised basal squamules. Small usually unbranched greyish podetia, squamulose below but becoming granular above. No cups, bright red apothecia often join forming rings. Very variable. Peaty soil and mossy rocks on heathland, also on rotting logs. Chemical reactions usually negative, but occasionally K+ yellow, CK+ yellow, P+ orange, UV+ blue Similar: Cladonia macilenta |
