Identification confirmed by John Douglass (photos) Large, bluish-grey thallus with neither soredia or isidia. The upper surface is often crumpled and white-spotted with peeling fragments of cortex that are the chief means of distribution. Seldom fertile. Central lobes often overlap and point in same direction. Occurs in old woodlands in W of Ireland on mossy trees and rocks. Medulla K-, C+ red, UV+ blue-white  |
