Species: Hypogymnia tubulosa Photos: On Hawthorn twig. Ballingeary, Cork, SW Ireland. Very similar to H. physodes but the tubular greyish-blue lobes are more finger-like with farinose soredia covering the lobe tips. Common on trees, fences and rocks throughout Ireland but is less resistant to air pollution than H. physodes. Cortex K+ yellow, UV+ purplish. Medulla and soralia KC+ red, P-, UV+ ice-blue |
