Parmotrema reticulatum

Growth type foliose.

Thallus of loosely attached grey-green lobes with marginal cilia. Upper surface +/- covered with fine white lines forming a network of hairline cracks. Lower surface dark brown to black, the rhizines extending to the paler margins. Soralia with granular soredia occur on lobe tips and margins. Stalked apothecia and pycnidia are rare.

Found on well-lit wayside and woodland trees, occasional on coastal rocks. Cortex: K+ yellow. Medulla: K+ yellow going orange-red, C-, KC+/- red, P+ orange-red, UV-
