Species: Bacidina delicata (Bacidia delicata) Photos: On Box twigs and leaves. Ballingeary, Co. Cork, SW Ireland. Specimen identified by John Douglass Wide-spreading leprose thallus, pale green to fawn, thin and finely granular. Apothecia rare, discs pale pink, hypothecium colourless. White pycnidia, +/- immersed, curved conidia 21-40 x 1 µm. Spores thinly 3-7 septate, (21-)24-48 x 1-1.5(-2) µm. Chemical reactions negative Widespread but probably overlooked on shaded urban stonework and +/- calcareous rocks, moss and basic bark. |
