Species: Lichenomphalia hudsoniana Photos: On tree stump. Gougane Barra, Co. Cork, SW Ireland. Rounded or shell-like green squamules, often with pale margins, lower surface white. Cap cream, buff or pale yellowy-orange, fading to white after heavy rain. Margin +/- crenulate, gills +/- strongly decurrent. Stem +/- less pubescent. Mainly found in upland areas on rotting wood, peaty soil or among moss and decaying plant material. Chemical reactions negative. Similar: Lichenomphalia umbellifera. Granular thallus. |
