Species: Trapeliopsis wallrothii Photos: Among moss on coastal rock. Zetland Pier, Co. Cork, SW Ireland. Specimen confirmed by John Douglass White or pale grey, warted and +/- squamulose thallus with distinct short, marginal lobes. Clusters of large, isidia-like warts are usually scattered over surface, leaving circular scars after abrasion. Apothecia are often absent, discs are pinkish-brown to green-grey, +/- pruinose and with persistent margins. Found among low rocks on well-drained, sunny soil and turf. Usually in coastal sites, SW Ireland. K-, C+ red, KC+ red, P-, UV+ whitish |
