Species: Lecanora compallens Photos: On roadside tree. Aughinish Alumina, Co. Limerick, Ireland. Identified by Brian Coppins Thin, immersed, pale grey thallus with irregular patches of punctiform soralia. Yellowish-green soredia, spreading over thallus leaving narrow marginal zone. Apothecia and pycnidia absent. Thallus K-, C-, P-, UV- Soredia K+ yellow to yellow-brown, C-, P-, UV+/- pale orange On the more exposed side of wayside and parkland trees and shrubs. Also found on worked timber. Similar: L. barkmaniana, K+ yellow, C-. L. expallens, C+ orange |
